Holiday Hostess Gifts – DIY and Great Ideas

It’s Black Friday and as I poured my coffee into my favorite mug, I cringed at the thought of venturing out to the stores today. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good sale. I mean, I’m all about thrifty finds and saving some cash. But maybe I will stay home and work on some personalized diy hostess gifts today. I’ve gathered a few of my recent favorites for you.

At the end of my projects, my Thrift Store Decor Team friends are sharing their favorites. Use these as an excuse to stay home and stay cozy today! Enjoy!

Fresh Simmer Pot

I finally made my own fresh simmer pot and this is must do for a fragrant holiday home! Simmer pots can be customized to your favorite fragrances. You can jar the ingredients to share as gifts.

Resin Scatter Decor

Resin projects are always a great way to use your creativity to make customized gifts for friends. Here is one of my recent project making small resin leaves as scatter decorations. Christmas trees would be fun too! You can find these molds on Amazon.

And another resin project where I made these Coasters! You can find these molds on Amazon and in your local craft stores.

You can make them in a great variety of colors. I made the marble-like white with black above. And then played with my favorite color blue.

Home Baked Favorites

I had to include this recipe for sugar cookies. Who doesn’t enjoy a sweet treat that they don’t have to make themselves? If you are baking cookies for your family, simply double the batch and bring some to a friend. So easy! And a special kind of DIY.

Team Favorites

Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia created this lovely recipe cutting board. What better way to memorialize your favorite family or holiday recipe!

I know you’ve seen these before but Kathy from Petticoat Junction really finds the most unique additions to the normal project. She gives you so many “do it like this” ideas with her flair for color.

What better way than to showcase someone’s logo family name, or favorite graphic??! Gail from My Repurposed Life has the best graphics posts and this little custom plaque is one of my favorites.

How about a contemporary twist on an old time decoration? A little paint and a cute stencil can bring new life to a well loved decoration. This would be great to use to package small gifts or treats! Carlene at Organized Clutter shows you how to bring life and new interest back to the classics.
