Yes!  No compressor.  It has the motor contained in the lightweight unit.  It produces a factory-like smooth finish! You just must make certain the paint is not too thick.  I primarily use latex so I can dilute it with water although usually I use it straight from the can!  Very easy to use and even easier to clean!  Let me know if you try it!]]></description>
